Atty. Ma. Angela Butalid Arzaga brings to the Firm extensive experience in technology law, data privacy and compliance, and appellate practice.
She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of the Philippines College of Law and her Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where she also obtained a Certificate of Specialization in Technology Law. At Berkeley Law, she further pursued specialized training in negotiations and transactional legal practice under the guidance of distinguished practitioners.
Atty. Butalid Arzaga served for five years at the Supreme Court of the Philippines, where she worked in the Office of an Associate Justice. Prior to her tenure at the Supreme Court, she served as Chief of Staff to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of the National Privacy Commission, the Philippines’ regulatory authority for data privacy.

She previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Universitas Foundation, a youth organization dedicated to nation-building through values formation. She currently teaches Legal Research and Writing and Technology Law at the University of Asia and the Pacific.
Her continuing professional education includes a Certificate in Digital Law from the University of Geneva, completed in 2021, and a graduate seminar in The Moral Foundations of Law at the Witherspoon Institute in Princeton, New Jersey, completed in 2019.
